Sun Screens & External Blinds

External Venetian blinds provide effective solar protection on the outside of the glazing, helping reduce direct solar exposure while allowing the shading solution to become an architectural element of the façade.

Depending on the required functionality, systems can use fixed or adjustable aluminium slats. Adjustable solutions allow the slat position and angle to be changed, providing control over shading, daylight and privacy.

Different slat profiles, dimensions, colours and configurations allow the system to be adapted to the architecture and geometry of the façade.

External fabric screens provide a discreet and flexible approach to solar shading. Technical screen fabrics can help reduce solar heat gain and glare while maintaining natural daylight and, depending on the selected fabric, outward visibility.

Different fabric types, colours, openness levels and technical properties can be selected according to the required balance between solar control, privacy, visibility and architectural appearance.

When retracted, the screen can be contained within its housing, allowing the façade and glazing to remain visually open when shading is not required.

Sun screens and external blinds can be installed in different configurations depending on the façade design, window system and stage of construction.

Solutions can range from visible front-mounted systems to partially or fully concealed installations, where the housing, guides and other components are integrated into the façade or window build-up.

For new construction, the shading system can be coordinated with the façade from the design stage to achieve a clean and integrated architectural appearance. Depending on the selected system and existing conditions, solutions can also be adapted for installation on completed façades or window systems.

Depending on the selected system, adjustable blinds and screens can be manually operated, controlled by a wall switch or remote control, or equipped with automated operation.

Motorised systems can also be integrated with sun, wind and other environmental sensors or building control systems, allowing the shading to respond automatically to changing solar and weather conditions.

We coordinate the shading system with the windows or glazed façade, surrounding cladding, supporting structure and architectural details, considering fixing positions, clearances, guide systems, housings and installation requirements.

Where the shading system forms part of our wider façade scope, these interfaces can be coordinated together before installation, allowing the shading system to become an integrated part of the façade rather than an added-on element.
