Hybrid Roof Systems

Hybrid roof systems combine insulated sandwich roof panels with PVC or bitumen membrane waterproofing, providing a simplified alternative to a conventional insulated membrane roof build-up.

For steel frame buildings, the system typically combines load-bearing steel, roof purlins, sandwich panels and membrane waterproofing. The sandwich panels replace the separately installed roof deck, vapour barrier and main thermal insulation build-up with one prefabricated insulated element.

Hybrid Roof Systems

Faster Roof Closure & Insulation Protection

Once the purlins are installed, sandwich panels create the insulated roof base in a single installation stage, reducing the number of subsequent installation stages.

With the insulation core enclosed between steel facings and panel joints sealed during installation, the system also reduces direct exposure of the insulation to rain and the risk of moisture absorption during construction.

Stable Membrane Substrate

The rigid sandwich panel surface provides a stable and even substrate for PVC or bitumen waterproofing, reducing the risk of local surface deformation compared with build-ups using separate insulation boards.

The steel structure, purlin arrangement and sandwich panel spans can also be evaluated and optimised as one coordinated structural roof solution.

Supply & Installation

The complete scope can include technical coordination, roof purlins, sandwich panels, membrane waterproofing, drainage, parapets, snow barriers, penetrations and associated roof details.
